In the delivery of the DIGITTRADE Security HDD, two keys (for authentication and access control using RFID) are contained. The unlocking of the DIGITTRADE RS128 and RS64 is possible only with those keys. Each RFID key has a unique ID. Only two related keys can be generated and approved to unlock the hard disk.


There is the possibility to create two new keys for the DIGITTRADE RS64 and RS128. This may be essential if one or both of the key have been lost or damaged.

If only one key is missing or damaged, you have the possibility to unlock the HDD using the second RFID key. Please save your data on a different medium. Then format the DIGITTRADE Security HDD and send it to us with the remaining RFID key, the defective keys (if they are available) and the completed owner certificate.

If both keys are lost, there is no way to access the data. But it is possible to create a new AES key and RFID keys. Again, we absolutely need the completed user certificate.

1) Information if you have lost or damaged RFID keys
If one or both RFID keys are lost or damaged, please contact us by telephone or by e-mail.

2) Sending your HDD to us
You have the possibility to send the HDD back to us. More information are available through our support with or after your purchase. If it's possible back up your data before returning the HDD. When the key will generate, all data will deleted irrevocable. For privacy reasons, you should send your HDD formatted to us. The shipment is at your own charge and risk. The DIGITTRADE GmbH is not liable for any loss of data and for resulting costs and damages.

3) Generating the keys
After the creation of the new RFID keys, the HDD will return to you. The cost of return (6.90 EUR) are to paid on the purchase of this benefit. You get back the HDD with two new RFID keys from the factory formatted.
