All data stored on the DIGITTRADE RS64 RFID Security HDD, is protected against unauthorized access by three essential protection measures.

A combination of data encryption, S.M.A.R.T. lock and RFID access control offers private users and small companies a good protection for mobile data.


Besides, you receive with the Acronis True Image OEM Quick Backup software all necessary extras which you need to the restoration of a computer system in the disaster case. If mistakes appear which block an access to information or influence the operating system, you can simply restore the system and lost data.


1. Encryption
During transfer on the HDD, all data is stored in real-time by a 64 bit XOR encryption.

2. S.M.A.R.T.-Lock
To prevent a decryption of the files, the DIGITTRADE RS64 RFID Security HDD has an additional feature. The enclosure uses the S.M.A.R.T. lock function and allocates independently an ATA password.

This ATA password protection is automatically activated, if the HDD is removed from the enclosure, turns off or locked by the RFID key. This prevents readout of the HDD outside the enclosure.

The deactivation of the password works simultaneously with unlocking of the HDD by the RFID key.

3. Authentication
The user authentication works with 128 bit RFID access control.

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. This technology transfers the encryption commands to the HDD. To access the HDD you need one of the RFID keys included in delivery.

For locking and unlocking of the DIGITTRADE RS64 just hold the transponder (RFID key) over the RFID reader integrated in the HDD. The activated status can be checked by LED.

4. Implemented HDD
The implemented 2.5” SATA HDD makes the mobile data safe small and handy. Thanks to data transfer and power supply using USB or FireWire and the hard ware encryption it is possible to use this storage medium independent of an operating system or platform.

Only quality HDDs by Samsung, Toshiba and Hitachi are used.

5. Supported Operating Systems
The HDDs are bootable and are independent of any operating system. This allows the users not only to store files and programs on the HDD, but also programs and complete operating systems.
